Bauer was dealing in this one, mowing down nine White Sox in a gritty effort to hold Cleveland’s lead in a close game. The offense did their part to stay a step ahead at all times, the highlights being solo homers by Carlos Santana and Ramirez.
The ninth inning certainly wasn’t pretty, as Cody Allen walked a pair of Chicago hitters to put runners on first and second with two out. But the Tribe closer managed to whiff pinch hitter Rob Brantly with the tying run on base, helping the Indians notch their twelfth straight win.
